The Prime Minister has decided to establish the Vietnam Microfinance Working Board. The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Mr Nguyen Van Binh is Head of the Board.
Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Mr Dang Thanh Binh is Deputy Head of the Board.
The members of the Vietnam Microfinance Working Board, includes leaders of the agencies: Office of the Government, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor- War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Vietnam Women’s Union, Vietnam Farmers Association, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Co-operative Bank of Vietnam, Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Vietnam Microfinance Working Board is responsible for assisting the Prime Minister for researching and directing the development of microfinance activities.
The State Bank of Vietnam is a permanent agency to help the Working Board.
The Working Board has a permanent group including a number of officials and experts in the field of microfinance and some officials of the agencies or organizations that have leaders who are members of the Board. Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam decided to establish and operate the permanent assistant group.
The Working Board is responsible for researching and proposing directions or solutions for the Prime Minister to develop the microfinance activities. Moreover, it also assists the Prime Minister in directing, conditioning, coordination among ministries, ministerial-level agencies and government agencies in the development of microfinance activities.
In addition, The Board assists the Prime Minister in urging the ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies in the development of microfinance activities.
The Vietnam Microfinance Working Board has right to request the information about the microfinance activities within range of the industry and local of the Ministry, the People’s Committees at all levels. One other right is discussion with the management agencies of state, associations, unions, organizations and individuals about microfinance activities.
